Life has a lot of mystery. While sitting in Church the other day and just "day dreaming" I was kind of mentally awakened when the sermon for the day was about Noah's Ark and the promise of God that the world would never endure another flood like the one that occurred over 11,000 years ago.
That was the religious message for the day, but it didn't end there for me. I started thinking about the amount of fresh water contained in the icebergs and how some far eastern sheik wanted to float one of these masses of ice to the desert. Was that a goofy idea? I don't know, but the fact is that the need for fresh water in that part of the world at that time was fact.
So, putting an ice age. Their theory is that a massive meteor, hit the earth about that same time. The meteor bore through the ice and into the core of the earth.
Couple of thoughts in my mind, I did a little research on the ice age, Noah's ark and found out a couple of things. First, off, the scientific community has had a theory for the creation of the Earth.
The ensuing catastrophe unleashed a gigantic release of gas, water, earthquakes, fire and the meltdown of the ice. This climatic disaster also cause an estimated forty days and forty nights of intensive storms and rainfall. Now, when you match this up with what biblical scholars have been passing down for years, something is ironic in this. The, Bible is quoted as, Moses being instructed to build an ark and take two of every species of life with him along with his family.
That also is calculated to have occurred somewhere around 11,000 years ago. So, whether you are a scientific believer or a religious person, those two facts make for some very interesting comparisons. Just think, God said to Moses, "The world will never suffer flooding like this again".
Now, what do these mysteries have to do with my reason for this article? We have been bombarded with a lot of smaller mysteries. The "aliens are coming", Al Gore's "theory of global warming", "No fossil fuel left" But, when you realize that both communities, the scientific and the religious have stated that the oceans rose somewhere around four-hundred feet and that erased all forms of life on earth, you drop you crossword puzzle and look up into the sky and wonder. What mysteries are next?
Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon and looked closely at the formations that were formed from the melting of the ice age. Hmmm, I wonder if the rising of the oceans and the melting of the ice was the catastrophe that raised the water four-hundred feet. Well, today we have another great mystery in our hands. We have been told by our politicos and the media that we are in trouble because we owe trillions of dollars.
My question to the media and the politicians is simple. Just like our own personal lives when we get in trouble and owe money, things happen that we don't agree with that upset our normal lives. The bill collector's start calling, the courts get loaded up with claims and lawsuits for back bills. The entire scene is havoc on the normal home life. But, let's look at our country. Who do we owe this money to? I cannot figure it out. IF, we borrowed it from another country, why are they not seizing our assets or at least demanding their money. But, for the life of me, and I am not a "financial guru" with a degree in economics from Harvard, but who in the hell do we owe this money to?
I, for one would certainly like a logical explanation. Can we declare bankruptcy as a country? If, cities and other governmental agencies can shut down, why cannot we make a deal with our creditor/s to settle for pennies on the dollar? Interesting concept and much more complicated than the Bible and Noah's Ark.
At least we have scholars in both communities that are well schooled in their disciplines, so that we have some sense of creditability about the great flood and Noah's Ark. But, this debacle on Wall St, completely floors common sense.
Respectfully, Regis Sauger
